What KitchenAid builds

What we are called about most
- Dishwasher not cleaning the top rack
- Wash pressure has dropped. The common causes are a jammed chopper, a worn wash pump impeller, or a blocked spray arm feed. A clogged filter under the lower arm will do it too, and that one costs nothing to check.
- Clean light flashing, cycle will not start
- On these dishwashers a blinking indicator is a stored fault rather than a reminder. It is commonly the door latch switch failing to confirm closure, or a heating element that no longer draws current, and the control logs it and stops.
- Touchpad or control panel unresponsive
- The membrane panel on dishwashers and some wall ovens loses contact with age, particularly where steam has reached the ribbon connector. Some buttons keep working while others go dead, which is the giveaway that it is the panel and not the board.
- Wall oven temperature drift
- The oven sensor reads high as it ages, so the control shuts the element off early and the cavity sits under the set point. We measure the sensor cold and compare it against spec before looking at the relay board behind it.
- Refrigerator ice maker stops producing
- On the French-door units the fault is usually in the icebox itself: a failed harvest motor, a fill valve that no longer opens, or ice bridging the mould after a door seal has been letting warm air in.
