- Burners click continuously without lighting
- Common on the older Professional gas ranges. Spilled liquid gets into the spark module or a single electrode cracks, and the module then fires every position at once. Cleaning the burner ports and reseating the caps clears a fair share of these before any part is needed.
- Gas oven will not reach temperature
- The glow-bar igniter weakens with age. Current draw falls below what the safety valve needs to open fully, yet the bar still glows, so the oven looks alive. The result is a long preheat and a cavity that sits well under the set point.
- Oven door sagging at the hinge
- Viking oven doors are heavy and the hinges carry that load through every cycle. A weakened hinge spring lets the door stand slightly proud of the seal, which shows up as heat at the top of the door and uneven baking.
- Convection fan noise
- A rumble or scrape that rises with the fan speed is usually the convection motor bearing, or the baffle behind it working loose against the blade. Left alone the blade eventually contacts the baffle and takes the motor with it.
