Dryer Repair in Orange County
Nearly every dryer complaint traces back to airflow. A blocked vent makes a dryer slow, then makes it overheat, then blows the fuse that shuts it down. Fitting parts without clearing the duct is the reason some dryers get repaired twice in a year. The mechanical faults, belts, rollers and idler pulleys, announce themselves by sound instead.
Airflow first, always
A dryer works by moving heated air through the load and out of the house. Lint accumulates in the duct run, at the wall hood, and in the flexible section behind the machine where it is usually crushed against the wall. As the run restricts, drying time climbs, then the cabinet runs hot, then the safety devices start to open. The tell is simple: a hot machine, a hot load, and clothes still damp. Clearing the duct is part of the repair rather than an upsell, because a new element in a blocked machine will fail again.
No heat on gas and electric dryers
An electric dryer with a broken heating element tumbles perfectly and dries nothing, and on many models one open element leg also produces a machine that runs cool rather than dead. A gas dryer instead has an igniter and two or three valve coils; when the coils weaken, the igniter glows, the gas lights for a few seconds, and then heat stops coming back for the rest of the cycle. That intermittent pattern is characteristic and points straight at the coils. On either type, a blown thermal fuse gives no heat and sometimes no tumble at all.

Squeals, thumps and grinding
Noise identifies the part fairly reliably. A high squeal that appears as the drum starts and changes with load is normally the idler pulley or a dry rear bearing. A regular thump once per revolution is a flat spot on a drum roller. A hard scraping is the drum contacting the bulkhead, usually because the front glides have worn through. A belt that has snapped gives a motor that runs with a drum that will not move at all, and it turns freely by hand. None of these is urgent, but running a worn roller long enough will score the drum.
Cuts out part way, hot
A dryer that stops mid-cycle with a hot cabinet has tripped a thermal protection device, and the device is doing its job. The high-limit thermostat opens when the heater box overheats, which is a restricted vent or a blocked blower wheel almost every time. Replacing the thermostat without clearing the restriction gets you one or two more cycles. A blower wheel loose on its shaft produces the same overheating with a rattling noise, and a lint screen fitted incorrectly can pull debris straight into the blower housing where it packs solid.
